Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, Mike Mozingo graduated from Palm Desert High School in 2001 and continued his education at College of the Desert. While attending classes at COD, Mike worked at the local Best Buy in various departments, ultimately landing on the Geek Squad. It was in this position that he would rediscover his love of radio while driving around the Coachella Valley and performing in-home computer services.
In 2012, Mike was laid off from Best Buy and decided that he needed to re-invent himself. While Mike had attended COD on and off over the years, he was still a few credits shy of graduating. After being laid off, he decided to go back to school, finish his AA, and try to get a job in the radio industry. Luckily, College of the Desert had recently launched a radio station and was offering classes in TV and radio. Mike enrolled in “Writing for TV and Radio” and “Radio Production,” which ultimately helped him land an internship with RR Broadcasting in 2012.
While producing his college radio show “The Alternative Stew” for KCOD and working as an intern with RR Broadcasting, Mike was nominated for three awards at the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Awards in New York City. After winning in the “Most Innovative” category, Mike continued to work at RR Broadcasting and was made a weekend host on MIX 100.5. Soon after that, Mike was promoted to “mid-days,” and shortly thereafter, became the host of the morning show on MIX 100.5.
In 2015, RR Broadcasting was purchased by Alpha Media USA. Under the direction of Alpha Media USA, Mike was added to 98.5 The Bull as the “afternoon drive” host. In 2020, Mike transitioned from working exclusively on music stations to working in talk radio when he began to fill in on The Bill Feingold Show on KNWZ FM. After the unfortunate passing of longtime KNWZ host Bill Feingold, Mike was added to the show on a permanent basis. Today, Mike can be heard weekday mornings on KNWZ, mid-days on MIX 100.5, and afternoon drive on 98.5 The Bull. In addition to Mike’s on-air roles, Mike is also the Assistant Program Director for 98.5 The Bull.
